Stressed out?

Stress can come from any number of sources. School and work stress, relationship problems and the all elusive stress with no name. “I’ve got it good, why can’t I sit back and enjoy life?” Maybe you are the one who is stressed out. Maybe it’s your spouse or your child. “She puts so much pressure on herself to be the perfect athlete and student that she comes home crying and chewing her nails. We all want to help her but it just seems to make things worse”.

I have been curious about the whys of anxiety since graduate school. Anxiety symptoms can be quite overwhelming. The mind races with worries and the body holds tension in a myriad of different ways from sweating and stomach aches to tense shoulders and a clenched jaw. “ And no, you say, you can’t just forget about it and move on, it’s not that simple and if I knew how to do that, don’t you think I would try?” What is your worry monster trying to tell you? Is it correct or way off base? Together we will explore how you got to where you are today in order to create the road map to get you where you want to be.
